Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak Arrested by Nepal Police

Kathmandu. Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak has been arrested by the Nepal Police and is being held at the No. 2 Battalion in Maharajgunj.

He was arrested this morning from his residence in Katuñje, Bhaktapur, according to family sources, who confirmed he is being held at the No. 2 Battalion in Maharajgunj.

Police stated that his arrest is in connection with the implementation of the recommendations made by the commission led by former Justice Gauribahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate the 'Janjati Movement'.

During the Janjati Movement, his private residence was damaged by arson, after which he had been residing in a rented house in Katuñje, Suryavinayak Municipality-5.
