New Labor Minister Prioritizes Skilled Workforce Creation Immediately After Taking Office

Kathmandu. Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Deepak Kumar Sah, has decided to create a skilled workforce immediately after assuming office.

At the ministry in Singha Durbar today, Minister Sah signed the decision proposed by the ministry to prepare a one-month strategic plan for the 'National Academy of Vocation Training', which was presented by the ministry's Secretary, Dr. Deepak Kafle.

After signing the decision, Minister Sah stated that the biggest problem in employment is the lack of skilled manpower. He emphasized that the condition of Nepalis going for employment, especially in Gulf countries, remains precarious, and he is committed to producing skilled manpower in the country.

Minister Sah mentioned that since he was elected from Mahottari Constituency No. 2, he will formulate an action plan according to the sentiments of the people there.

Stating that this is the 'mandate' given by the people, Minister Sah opined that teaching skills alongside education is the current demand and necessity for the workforce. Minister Sah also committed to making the five-year plan prepared by the ministry successful for this purpose.

Ministry Secretary Kafle stated that the government aims to work towards ensuring solidarity between skills acquired and employment within five years.
