Ravindra Chandra Thakuri Appointed Member Secretary of Karnali Province Sports Development Council

‎‎Surkhet. Ravindra Chandra Thakuri has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Karnali Province Sports Development Council by the Karnali Province Government. The Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday appointed Thakuri, a resident of Birendranagar Municipality-7, to the post of Member Secretary, which has been vacant since Poush 081.

Thakuri is an experienced and multifaceted personality in the field of Nepali sports management, football administration, and marketing. Born in Dailekh, Chauratha, Karnali Province, Thakuri is currently a permanent resident of Birendranagar-7, Surkhet.

‎‎He has completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Shankar Dev Campus, Tribhuvan University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Branding from Don Bosco College. Thakuri, who also has special expertise in the technical aspects of sports, has completed the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) 'B' and 'C' License Coaching Courses and actively participated in various national and international workshops related to sports management.

Football Administration and Professional Leadership:

‎Thakuri, who is currently serving as a Central Working Committee Member of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), has been playing an influential role within the association. He has demonstrated his professional acumen as the coordinator of ANFA's 'Commercial Rights, Broadcasting, and Digital Rights Committee' and as a member of the 'Long-Term Strategic Plan and Program Revision Committee.'

‎‎His excellent leadership capability has been successfully proven as the Marketing Committee Coordinator for the Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial 'A' Division League 2023 and as the Venue Manager for the SAFF Women's Championship in 2022. Furthermore, he has held significant responsibilities in the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for international competitions such as the Women's Olympic Qualifiers, SAFF U-20 Championship, AFC Challenge League, and FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

RC32 Football Academy "Rara Rangers" and Historical Achievement: 

‎Thakuri is the founding chairman of the RC32 Football Academy (Rara Rangers). This club is the first club from Karnali Province and overall Western Nepal to achieve historical success by making its way into the 'B' Division under ANFA's national football pyramid. Since 2015, he has also been active as an Event Consultant for various sports events.

Player and Coach Life: 

‎Before taking on administrative roles, Thakuri was a successful player. He has represented Nepal at the national level in Cricket for the U-15, U-19, and Senior teams, and participated as a football player in the Sixth National Games. As a coach, he successfully guided the football and cricket teams of Shankar Dev Campus to excellent results.

‎‎Thakuri, who has a strong command of Nepali, English, and Hindi languages, is continuously active in taking Nepali sports to greater professionalism and heights due to his efficiency, clear vision, and dedication.
