Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Chief Inspects IT Department Operations

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Chief Sunita Dangol has started monitoring the departmental work performance system, accompanied by Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain. The monitoring commenced on Tuesday at the Information Technology Department.

During the inspection, she gathered information from the desk officers regarding their ongoing work, related processes, responsibilities, workload, work environment, challenges encountered, and methods for addressing visible difficulties.

Acting Chief Dangol sought details concerning the systems operational for electronic services, the data generated during work, the data analysis process, storage capacity, and the automatic distribution of information and details that need to be made public. 

In response, Department Chief Anirudra Nepal briefed on departmental activities, noting that priorities include integrating previously developed and operational systems, operating a data center, implementing e-attendance in schools, installing CCTV, and effectively implementing e-attendance, e-recommendation, and e-notation.

Division Chief Ashok Shrestha provided updates on systems related to land administration and house numbering. Land administration is currently in the implementation phase. Work done at the desk for house numbering is nearing completion, expected to be finalized within about 30 days.

During this session, Information Technology Officer Madhav Khanal provided information about the work being carried out at the Software Development and Operation Center.
