Endowment Fund Established at Kalika Secondary School in Khotang

Khotang. An endowment fund worth five lakh rupees, the 'Mugadhan and Bhallshobha Memorial Endowment Fund,' has been established at Kalika Secondary School in Nerpa, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-6. The endowment fund was established at the school by the family of the late Mugadhan and Bhallshobha Rai, including their 99-year-old son Karna Bahadur Rai, 87-year-old daughter Kumari Krishna Rai, and the family of their late sons Raj Bahadur and Bhuichal Bahadur Rai.

Bhogiendra Rai, son of Kumari Krishna, informed that the interest generated from the principal amount will be used for the necessary operations of the school. "The late Mugadhan and Bhallshobha Rai are a source of inspiration for our family. We, the family members, have established the endowment fund in their honor," he said. "One family member has been appointed as the custodian of the endowment fund. We have given the school the authority to use the interest from the principal amount for necessary operations without touching the principal."

A harmonium, madal (drum), and flute worth 34,500 rupees were also provided to the school in memory of the late Dhyan Bahadur Rai, the youngest son of Mugadhan and Bhallshobha Rai. Former principal of the school, Bedi Kumar Rai, informed that Karna Bahadur and Kumari Krishna Rai were felicitated during the program for the establishment of the endowment fund and the handover of the musical instruments.

Prem Kumar Rai, an accountant at the local District Public Health Office, Khotang, who contributed 60,600 rupees for the academic enhancement and beautification of the school, was honored in a program last Friday.
