Aam Janata Party Chairman Prabhu Sah Calls for Probe into Election Fairness Amid Concerns

Kathmandu. Prabhu Sah, Chairman of the Aam Janata Party (Aam Janata) and former minister, has demanded an investigation into the fairness, impartiality, and transparency of the recent elections, despite claims that they were held peacefully, as questions have been raised.

Sah made this demand while addressing the Central Committee meeting held today (Saturday) at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.

Raising questions about the role of both the Election Commission and the government, he stated that the failure to act on violations of the election code of conduct and the inability to stop one-sided campaigning have raised serious questions.

He also questioned the impartiality of the media and social media. He commented that the failure of the Election Commission and the government to stop the misuse of fake IDs and one-sided media promotion was a failure on their part.

Furthermore, he stated that the complete lack of representation for Madhesi Dalits in the House of Representatives is proof of the failure of this constitution and system. He announced that the party will struggle for representation, as not a single Madhesi Dalit is present in the 275-member House of Representatives corresponding to the population. He also demanded an explanation from the Election Commission regarding the reason for the non-participation of Madhesi Dalits.

He expressed sorrow over the damage caused to wheat, maize, banana crops, as well as mango and litchi fruits across the country due to the recent hailstorms and heavy rains, and demanded that the government provide compensation to the farmers.
