Man Arrested in Pokhara with Large Cache of Narcotics; Second Arrest Made in Separate Drug Bust

Ayush Tamang has been arrested in Pokhara with a large quantity of narcotics. Police apprehended the 19-year-old Tamang from the Sainya Basti area of Pokhara-29 along with nearly 2,500 ampoules of illicit drugs.

During the search of his room, a total of 2,432 ampoules of narcotics were recovered, including 1,721 ampoules of Diazepam, 334 ampoules of Phenergan, and 377 ampoules of Buprenorphine, informed Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Haribahadur Basnet.

Cash amounting to NPR 93,500 and two mobile phones were also recovered from his possession. Basnet stated that an investigation is underway after his custody was extended for 5 days.

Similarly, another individual was arrested with brown heroin from Ramghat, Pokhara-10. Shiv Giri, 20, originally from Tanahun and currently residing in the same area, was apprehended with 8 grams and 15 milligrams of brown heroin.

One mobile phone was also recovered from his possession. Basnet informed that the investigation is proceeding after the Kaski District Court extended his custody by 7 days.

According to Kaski Police, 80 cases related to narcotics have been registered in the current fiscal year alone, and 120 individuals have been arrested. Among those arrested are 111 men and 9 women.
