Nepal Gen-Z Front Condemns Assault on Coordinator Raksha Bam During Protest

Kathmandu. The Nepal Gen-Z Front has condemned the mistreatment of its coordinator, Raksha Bam.

 Issuing a press release on Friday, the Front stated that the mistreatment of Bam during a peaceful demonstration at Maitighar Mandala on Thursday is intolerable for a civilized democratic society.

Gen-Z groups have been continuously protesting at Maitighar for some time, demanding the public release of the report from the commission formed to conduct an impartial investigation into the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.

 The Front concluded that it is condemnable that the protesters themselves were attacked while peacefully raising their voices, acknowledging the collective responsibility towards the sacrifice of the martyrs and the injured.

The statement portrayed Coordinator Raksha Bam as a fearless leader who has stood for democratic values and principles without wavering since the initial moments of the movement. The Front emphasized that while disagreements, pain, and anger within the movement are natural, the target should be the state, not the protesters.

A warning was also issued that the mistreatment of their own comrades would weaken the movement, especially as the state continues to conceal the truth and has not yet published the report.

The Nepal Gen-Z Front clarified that its commitment and morale will not be shaken in the least by such obstructions and attacks.
