Gandaki Province Government to Operate Elderly Citizens' Ashram in Gorkha's Chepetar

Pokhara. The Gandaki Province Government is set to operate an elderly citizens' ashram in Chepetar, Gorkha. The government has decided to house senior citizens in Chepetar, where the physical structure is already complete. Government spokesperson Dr. Takraj Gurung informed that the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday made the decision to operate the elderly citizens' ashram.

According to him, a well-equipped residential building was already constructed in Chepetar, Gorkha Municipality Ward 10. The construction of the building began after an agreement was signed on Bhadra 1, 2076, with investment from the provincial government itself. Asis Eco JV completed the building construction only last year after getting its deadline extended three times.

The building, constructed on 3 ropanis of government land, has three structures. There is a separate building for office use. The building constructed to house the elderly has 24 rooms, including a meeting hall. A separate one-room building has been constructed for the security guard.

The Infrastructure Development Office stated that air conditioners (ACs) have been installed in some rooms. The building was constructed at a cost of approximately 4 crore rupees. The office also mentioned that two hundred meters of the road leading to the building has been paved with asphalt and concrete.

Government spokesperson Gurung informed that the same building is now being operated as an elderly citizens' ashram.
