Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather Forecast

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology Forecasting has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds.

Due to this influence, the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and the mountainous regions of the remaining provinces, are generally cloudy. The hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces have partial cloud cover, while the rest of the areas are mainly clear.

This afternoon, most areas across the country will experience cloud cover. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms in many places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, some places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi province, and a few places in the remaining provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, most places across the country will have cloud cover. The department has stated that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstones in many places in Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Gandaki provinces, and in some places in the remaining provinces.
