Mechi Customs Office Collects NPR 11.58 Billion in First Eight Months, Reaching 96% of Target

Jhapa. The Mechi Customs Office has collected NPR 11.58 billion, 603,000 in revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. This figure represents 96.06 percent of the target set for the same period.

According to Ishwar Kumar Humagai, the office's information officer, the target for revenue collection up to the end of Falgun was NPR 12.05 billion, 586,000. He stated that NPR 1.65 billion, 804,000 in revenue was collected in the month of Falgun alone. This achievement is 110.26 percent of the target set for that month.

In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, revenue collected under the Customs Duty head amounted to NPR 4.89 billion, 330,000; under the Customs Duty Export head, NPR 221.7 million; under Other Customs Related Income, NPR 6.36 million; under Export Service Fee, NPR 629,000; and under Agriculture Reform Fee, NPR 109.6 million.

Similarly, revenue collected under Excise Duty Import was NPR 294.22 million; Road Maintenance and Improvement Fee, NPR 392.38 million; Infrastructure Tax, NPR 1.22 billion, 128,000; Health Risk Tax on Foreign Products, NPR 121,000; Value Added Tax (Import), NPR 4.20 billion, 188,000; and Green Tax, NPR 132.35 million.

Information Officer Humagai further informed that the office has set an annual revenue collection target of NPR 18.87 billion, 748,000 for the current fiscal year 2082/083.
