Nepali Congress Demands Detailed Review Reports on Poor Performance in Recent Federal Elections

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has demanded a detailed review report outlining the reasons for the party's failure to achieve expected results in the recently concluded House of Representatives elections. The party's central office has issued a circular to all provincial and district working committees and candidates, directing them to immediately form disciplinary committees and submit the findings on the causes of the defeat to the center.

The circular, signed by Joint General Secretaries Gururaj Ghimire and Pradip Paudel, mentioned that the results of the election held on Falgun 21 were disappointing and urged for self-assessment on the matter.

The circular further stated that if district and provincial disciplinary committees have not been formed in accordance with Article 34 of the Nepali Congress Statute, 2017, they must be formed immediately, and the official details including the names and contact numbers of the conveners and members must be sent to the central office.

Provincial and district committees, as well as House of Representatives candidates, have been requested to submit detailed reports to the center covering the review of election results, reasons for the defeat, experiences, suggestions, and areas needing improvement in the future.

The Congress central office has also set a deadline, mandating that the details of the disciplinary committee and the election review report must be submitted by Chaitra 3.
