Election Police Bids Farewell After Peaceful House of Representatives Election 2082 in Chitwan

Election police deployed for the House of Representatives election 2082 have been bid farewell in Chitwan. A sense of joy was evident among them as they departed following the peaceful conclusion of the election.

Laxmi Bhandari, who was deployed in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 during the election, expressed her delight while being bid farewell. Stating that she had the opportunity to serve for 40 days as assigned by the state for the election, she mentioned that completing the election peacefully was a source of happiness. Bhandari added that serving the state provided a clear understanding of the hard work put in by Nepal's security agencies. She intends to use the allowances received from the state for her children's education.

Similarly, Renuka Paudel expressed happiness that the election was peaceful. She mentioned that although she had worked in countries like Korea and New Zealand after completing her Grade 12 studies, this was her first opportunity to serve the people and the state in Nepal. She said, "Initially, I thought I wouldn't be able to do the job. Later, I got used to it."

Paudel shared that while working, she gained knowledge about how the police operate and what thoughts arise after wearing the uniform. She recounted the feeling of truly working as a servant of the nation. Paudel stated, "I am satisfied with the 40 days of work. I plan to use the money earned from serving here for my undergraduate studies."

Sunita Praja Basnet, who participated in the election under the Area Police Office, Ratnanagar, is very happy that the election was completed with the involvement of the police. Stating that she got the opportunity to learn things she didn't know, she mentioned feeling capable of fulfilling responsibilities assigned by the state now. Basnet expressed her desire to use the benefits received from being deployed as election police in a business venture. She intends to manage household expenses through poultry farming.

Sankalpa KC, deployed under the Area Police Office, Khairhani, stated that his enthusiasm increased after receiving the responsibility of conducting the election peacefully through the election police. He said, "I am very happy to have received the responsibility of completing the election." KC added that he is ready to take on responsibilities if the state deems it necessary at other times as well.

A total of 2,766 election police personnel were mobilized in the district for the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21. Among them, 2,441 were from Nepal Police and 325 were from Armed Police Force. They were bid farewell in a program on Thursday.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal announced that the government will initiate efforts to teach vocational skills in two phases in collaboration with CITEVT and the Cottage and Small Industries Development Office to brighten the future of the election police. He informed that arrangements have been made for training for 1,200 individuals per year through CITEVT.
