Father of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli Cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat

Kathmandu, February 29: The last rites of Mohan Prasad Oli, father of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, were performed today at Pashupati Aryaghat.

Former Prime Minister Oli's father passed away this morning at the age of 97 while undergoing treatment at the Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital in Bhaktapur. Eldest son and Chairman Oli lit the funeral pyre for his late father.

Paying tribute to the deceased father Oli at Aryaghat were Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, leader Arjun Narsingh KC, Communist Party of Nepal leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha, former Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha, daughter Abagya Paudel of President Ramchandra Paudel, UML Vice-Chairmen Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Prithvi Subba Gurung, and Gokul Baskota, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, General Secretary of CPN (ML) CP Mainali, leader Ghanshyam Bhusal of CPN (United), and various leaders and cadres of UML.
