Electoral Police Conclude Term After Ensuring Security for House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. The electoral police recruited for the security of the House of Representatives election have completed their term. Nepal Police had recruited 133,980 electoral police and Armed Police Force had recruited 15,110, for deployment in election security for 40 days.

The House of Representatives election concluded peacefully on Falgun 21. With the vote counting results also made public, the electoral police were bid farewell on Thursday. They were sent off with a 'Letter of Appreciation,' Nepal Police Spokesperson (DIG) Avi Narayan Kafle told Ratopati.

The Armed Police Force will also bid farewell to the electoral police on Falgun 28. The Armed Police Force had deployed 15,110 electoral police for election security. Armed Police Force Spokesperson (DIG) Bishnu Prasad Bhatta informed that the electoral police deployed for election security will be bid farewell next Thursday.

The government has provided a salary of 34,776 Nepali Rupees to the electoral police for their 40 days of service in election security. In addition, they received an extra preparation allowance of 846 Rupees for rations and travel. Electoral police will receive an allowance for snacks at a rate of 300 Rupees per day for 4 days. A separate amount was provided for uniforms, Police Spokesperson Kafle stated.
