Dozens of Political Parties Fail to Cross 10,000 Vote Threshold in Nepal's Proportional Representation Election

Kathmandu. Thirty political parties have failed to cross the 10,000 vote threshold in the proportional representation category of the House of Representatives election.

According to the Election Commission, 27 out of those 36 parties have secured less than 5,000 votes. Among them, four parties have secured less than 1,000 votes.

According to the latest vote count published by the Election Commission, in the proportional representation category, out of 10,785,876 total valid votes nationwide, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has secured the first position with 5,157,130 votes.
