Syanga Police Arrest Three Fugitives During Election Period

Syanga. Syanga Police have arrested three absconding convicts who had come secretly to cast their votes, taking advantage of the election opportunity. They were taken into custody from various locations by the District Police Office Syanga and its subordinate teams, as they had pending jail time and fines to pay following court verdicts.

Those arrested include 40-year-old Prem Bahadur Darji from Arjun Chaupari Rural Municipality-5, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a homicide case. Also arrested were 74-year-old Ram Bahadur Kami from Andhikhola Rural Municipality-4, who had 2 years, 5 months, and 13 days of jail time remaining for a polygamy case, and 58-year-old Buddhiman Shahi from Putalibazar Municipality-5, who was sentenced to 2 days in jail for a banking offense.

Syanga Police stated that the three individuals were arrested on Falgun 21, immediately after the voting process concluded, as part of the election-targeted security strategy. Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Prasanna Raj Chaudhary informed that all three arrested individuals were sent to the Syanga District Court on Monday for serving their sentences and recovering the fines.
