Rastriya Swatantra Party Dominates Gandaki Province Elections, Securing 12 Seats So Far

Pokhara. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 12 seats in Gandaki Province from the House of Representatives elections held on Falgun 21. RSP candidates are also leading in the remaining 3 seats where counting is underway. The Nepali Congress has won 2 seats, while the CPN-UML has ended up with zero seats this time.

RSP won seats in 3 constituencies in Kaski, 2 in Tanahun, 2 in Baglung, 2 in Nawalpur, and one each in Parbat, Lamjung, and Syangja 1. Independent candidate Mahabir Pun was also victorious in Manang with the support of RSP. The Congress won in the Himalayan districts of Manang and Mustang.

In Kaski 1, Khadakraj Poudel won, in 2 Uttam Poudel, and in 3 Bina Kumari Gurung secured victory. Dharmaraj KC won in Lamjung. In Tanahun 1, Dr. Swarnim Wagle won, and in 2, Sriram Neupane was victorious. Sushil Khadka and Som Sharma won in Baglung, while Sagar Bhusal won in Parbat. Dr. Dhananjay Regmi won in Syangja 1. Rajan Gautam won in Nawalpur 1 and Manish Khanal in 2.

Tek Bahadur Gurung of the Congress won in Manang, and Yogesh Gauchan in Mustang. RSP candidates are leading in both constituencies of Gorkha. Sudhan Gurung is leading in 1 and Kabindra Burlakoti in 2. Jhabilal Dumre of RSP is also leading in Syangja 2.
