Rastriya Swatantra Party Secures Significant Wins in Sudurpashchim Province Election Results

Dhangadhi. Results have been announced for most of the 16 House of Representatives constituencies in the Sudurpashchim Province, while counting continues in a few others. According to the results published so far, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has achieved notable success.

In Kailali Constituency No. 1, RSP's Komal Gyawali has won by securing 17,826 votes, while in Kailali-5, RSP's Anand Chand has emerged victorious with 31,953 votes. In Kanchanpur Constituency No. 2, RSP's Deepak Bohara has been elected after receiving 33,952 votes.

In Doti, Nepali Congress's Bharat Khadka won with 14,897 votes, while in Bajhang, CPN-UML's Ain Mahar was elected with 18,543 votes. In Achham-1, Nepali Congress's Bharat Swar secured victory by obtaining 10,759 votes.

In Kailali Constituency No. 3, Rastriya Swatantra Party's Jagat Prasad Joshi won by a large margin, securing 20,359 votes.

In Dadeldhura, the Nepali Congress stronghold fell after 34 years. RSP candidate Dr. Tara Prasad Joshi was elected in this constituency with 19,131 votes. His closest competitor, Nepali Congress's Nain Singh Mahar, received 12,121 votes. Joshi defeated Mahar by a margin of 7,010 votes.

Gyanendra Singh Mahata won in Kanchanpur Constituency No. 3, defeating Congress candidate Hari Prasad Bohara by a margin of 17,675 votes. In Kanchanpur-1, RSP's Janak Singh Dhami was elected with 24,332 votes.

In Darchula, CPN-UML's Ganesh Thagunna won by securing 18,891 votes.

Meanwhile, counting is ongoing in Baitadi, Achham-2, Kailali-4, Kailali-2, and Bajura. RSP has taken the lead in Baitadi, while UML is ahead in Achham-2. RSP's victory in Kailali-4 is almost certain. Nepali Congress has taken the lead in Bajura.

So far, results from 11 constituencies have been announced: Nepali Congress has won 2 seats, CPN-UML has won 2 seats, and Rastriya Swatantra Party has won 7 seats. RSP candidates were defeated in Bajhang, Darchula, and Achham-1. RSP candidates are also trailing in Achham-2.
