Rastriya Swatantra Party Secures Wins in 27 Constituencies Amid Ongoing Vote Count

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured victories in 27 constituencies in the ongoing counting of the House of Representatives elections. According to the results available as of 10:15 AM, RSP candidates are leading in 90 constituencies.

According to the Election Commission, Santosh Rajbanshi has been elected from Morang Constituency No. 4, Rubina Acharya from Morang 6, Manish Jha from Dhanusha 3, Pramod Kumar Mahato from Mahottari 1, Arvind Sah from Bara 3, Buddhiprasad Pant from Parsa 1, Ranju Neupane from Kathmandu 1, Sunila KC from Kathmandu 2, Rajunath Pandey from Kathmandu 3, Pukar Bam from Kathmandu 4, Sasmita Pokharel from Kathmandu 5, Shishir Khanal from Kathmandu 6, Ganesh Parajuli from Kathmandu 7, Birajbhakta Shrestha from Kathmandu 8, Dolprasad Aryal from Kathmandu 9, Pradip Bishta from Kathmandu 10, and Rukesha Ranjit from Bhaktapur 1.

Furthermore, Rabi Lamichhane won from Chitwan Constituency No. 2, Uttam Prasad Paudel from Kaski Constituency No. 2, Bina Gurung from Kaski 3, Dhananjay Regmi from Syangja 1, Sagar Bhusal from Parbat 1, Sulabh Kharel from Rupandehi 2, Dr. Lekhjang Thapa from Rupandehi 3, Kanhaiya Baniya from Rupandehi 4, Suresh Kumar Chaudhary from Banke Constituency No. 1, Khagendra Sunar from Banke 3, and Komal Gyawali from Kailali 1.

The Commission stated that results have been published for 34 locations so far. Counting is currently underway in 161 out of the total 165 constituencies under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system.

The Nepali Congress has won in four constituencies. Santosh Subba won from Tehrathum Constituency No. 1, Tek Bahadur Gurung of the Nepali Congress from Manang 1, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali from Mustang Constituency No. 1, and Basana Thapa from Dailekh Constituency No. 1. Nepali Congress candidates are currently leading in 10 locations in the ongoing count.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), has been elected from Rukum East Constituency No. 1. CPN (Maoist Centre) candidates are leading in 11 constituencies in the ongoing count. Mohammad Ishtiaq Rai of the CPN (UML) won from Banke Constituency No. 1. CPN (UML) candidates are leading in 10 constituencies.

Independent candidate Mahabir Pun has been elected from Myagdi Constituency No. 1. He was supported by the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Candidates from the Shram Sanskriti Party are leading in five places, and candidates from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party are leading in one place.
