India Welcomes Successful Conclusion of Nepal's House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. Neighboring country India has welcomed the House of Representatives election held in Nepal on Thursday. Responding to media queries on Thursday evening, Indian Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed happiness that the Nepali citizens enthusiastically exercised their democratic rights. 

India congratulated Prime Minister Sushila Karki, the Government of Nepal, the Nepali people, and all stakeholders involved in the election for successfully completing the polls despite the extraordinary and challenging circumstances of the past year.

Spokesperson Jaiswal mentioned that India remains committed to Nepal's peace, progress, and stability, and also informed that India provided necessary strategic and material support for this election at the request of the Government of Nepal.

He clarified that as a neighboring country, India has consistently supported the strengthening of Nepal's democratic process and this cooperation will continue in the coming days.

India appears eager to work with the new government that will be formed after the election in Nepal. The response mentioned that India looks forward to collaborating with the new leadership to further elevate the strong and multifaceted relationship between the two countries and peoples and for mutual benefit.
