Election Commission Declares Peaceful Conclusion to House of Representatives Voting; Ballot Collection Underway

Kathmandu. The Election Commission on Thursday declared that the voting process for the House of Representatives Member Election 2082 was completed peacefully and enthusiastically across the country. Citizens participated with great enthusiasm to exercise their right to vote during the polling process, which ran from 7 AM to 5 PM. Commission Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that immediately after the voting concluded, the process of securely collecting ballot boxes and preparing for vote counting has begun.

Nepal Army helicopters have been deployed to transport ballot boxes from remote areas in 15 geographically challenging districts. According to the Commission's plan, the target is to bring all ballot boxes from Taplejung, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Bajhang, and Rukum East to their respective counting centers by tonight.

Likewise, ballot boxes from remote and mountainous districts such as Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Gorkha, Rukum West, Manang, Bajura, and Humla will be brought to the counting sites by tomorrow morning. The Commission stated that as soon as the ballot boxes are received at the Office of the Chief Returning Officer, the counting process will be immediately advanced after reaching a consensus among all political parties.
