Ballot Boxes Collected After House of Representatives Election; Counting in Some Districts Delayed

Kathmandu. With the voting concluded in the House of Representatives elections held on Thursday, the process of collecting ballot boxes has begun. Among them, ballot boxes from six districts will only reach the counting centers on Friday morning.

During a press conference organized by the Election Commission on Thursday, Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari informed that the ballot papers from Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Gorkha, West Rukum, Manang, Bajura, and Humla will reach the counting centers only on Friday.

According to him, among the 15 remote districts, ballot boxes from Taplejung, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Bajhang, and East Rukum will be transported today itself. The Commission stated that ballot boxes from 15 districts will be transported via helicopter to various locations. The Election Commission also mentioned that the voter turnout percentage might increase.
