Voter Turnout Reaches 45% Nationwide by Mid-Afternoon in House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. As of around 4 PM on Thursday during the House of Representatives Election 2082, 45 percent of votes have been cast across the country.

 According to the updated statistics received, out of a total of 18,903,689 registered voters nationwide, 8,460,677 people have exercised their right to vote so far.

Looking at the voting details, Kathmandu Valley showed the highest enthusiasm among voters. In the 15 constituencies of the valley, 54 percent of votes had been cast by 3:45 PM. Among the provinces, Gandaki and Karnali provinces recorded the highest voter turnout.

 Both these provinces recorded an equal turnout of 48 percent. On the other hand, Madhesh Province showed the lowest voting percentage. The statistics indicate that only 37 percent of votes were cast in the 32 constituencies of Madhesh.

Similarly, 47 percent of voters exercised their franchise in both Bagmati and Lumbini provinces, while Koshi Province recorded a 46 percent turnout. Sudurpaschim Province recorded the second lowest turnout after Madhesh, with only 39 percent of votes cast.

Voting has been underway since the morning at 10,967 polling stations across the total 165 constituencies nationwide. Since the voting process, which continues until 5 PM, still has voters in line, it is estimated that the total percentage of votes cast will increase significantly by the final count.
