Rautahat Candidate Quits CPN, Citing Party Leadership's 'Inaction' During Alleged Booth Capture

Kiran Kumar Sah, a candidate for the CPN in Rautahat-2, has announced his decision to leave the party. He stated that he is leaving the party because the party's coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal remained inactive even when booths were allegedly captured during the election held under difficult circumstances following the 'Jeejee' movement.

On Thursday afternoon, he also recalled the individuals deployed as party representatives through a live session on the social media platform Facebook.

'This election is taking place under difficult circumstances following the Jeejee movement. However, despite being in a position to win the election in this constituency, which has a majority Hindu population, I announce my departure from the party due to the inaction of the government, party coordinator Prachanda, and co-coordinator Nepal,' he said.

He also stated that he would not participate in the vote counting unless a re-election is held in the locations where rigging allegedly occurred.

He had previously won the election in 2079 as an independent candidate from the same constituency. After winning the election, he joined the CPN-UML. He later left the CPN-UML and joined the CPN just before the election.
