Voting Halted at Dolakha Polling Station Amidst Political Dispute

Kathmandu. Voting remains suspended at the Golmeshwor Secondary School polling station in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Dolakha. Although an all-party meeting reached an agreement to resume voting, party cadres are currently engaged in a dispute among themselves.

After one group attempted to assault the staff deployed at the polling station, the police fired one round in the air. The police have currently gathered the representatives of the political parties deployed at the polling station in one location.

Despite election officials dispatched from the Election Office being ready to conduct the voting, it has not yet started, SSP Somendra Singh Rathore, deployed in Dolakha to oversee the elections, told Ratopati.

He said, 'Although the environment for voting exists, voting has not been able to start because the political party cadres are engaged in a dispute among themselves.'
