Bollywood Actress Lara Dutta Describes Fear and Tension in Dubai Amid US-Iran Tensions

Dubai. The intense conflict brewing between the United States, Israel, and Iran is also affecting the daily lives of people in the Gulf nation of Dubai. Bollywood actress Lara Dutta, who is currently in Dubai with her daughter Saira, shared her emotional experience regarding the tense situation there.

Lara, who was in Dubai for a brand shoot, recalled the events of February 28, stating that they were very frightened by missiles being stopped in the sky and the roar of fighter jets. She mentioned having to flee the studio after hearing loud explosion sounds while shooting, and that the explosions, which shook windows and doors, made her realize the horror of war.

According to the actress, the last few days in Dubai have been very tense. With her husband Mahesh Bhupathi away for work, she appeared even more worried about her daughter's safety.

However, she praised the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), stating that the government has done a commendable job in making every citizen and foreigner feel safe there. She expressed surprise that ordinary people there are not abandoning their daily routines even in such a time of crisis.

Lara expressed her pain through a video message and said she wants to return to Mumbai as soon as possible.

Due to the impact of the war on the airspace, only limited flights are operating, and she is waiting for a flight with Emirates or Etihad. She is eager to take her daughter to a safer place, especially since children are more affected by such frightening environments. She wished for world peace, stating that no ordinary citizen should have to live under the shadow of fear and terror.

Security alertness has been heightened in Dubai following recent targeted attacks by Iran. The temporary closure of the airspace left thousands of passengers stranded, and the regional conflict has also dealt a major blow to tourism and trade in the Middle East.
