Shotgun Accidentally Discharges at Polling Station in Udayapur, Damaging Ballot Box

Kathmandu. A ballot box was damaged in Udayapur when a shotgun carried by a police officer accidentally discharged. An official from the District Police Office, Udayapur, told Ratopati that the shotgun carried by the police constable stationed at 'Kha' polling center, located at the vegetable and fruit sales center in Katari Municipality-3, Tawakola, suddenly went off.

The official stated that one round was fired from the shotgun due to carelessness. Four votes had been cast in the ballot box. It has been reported that the ballot papers remain safe. Voting activities have resumed at that location.
