Nepal - the origin of four philosophies
Kathmandu - Four different working papers on 'Various Aspects of Nepali Philosophy' were presented at a programme organised at Nepal Academy on Monday.
Nepal Academy, Department of Philosophy and Nepal Intellectual Research Centre had jointly organised the programme.
On the occasion, philosophy scholar Bishnu Prabhat presented a working paper on 'Brief Introduction on Nature Worshiper Bon Philosophy', while Dr Bhakta Rai on 'Analysis of Mundhum'.
The mundhum is the religious text of the Kirant Rai. Similarly, Dr Chandra Kumar Sherma presented working paper on 'Kirant Religion, Mundhum Philosophy' and Kiran Rai on 'Introduction of Prembad Philosophy'.
On the occasion, Bairagi Kainla, Mundhum expert, said that Mundhum philosophy to Buddha philosophy, Satyahangma Panthi Kirant philosophy and Prembad philosophy were originated from Nepal.
He stressed the need of paying attention in its right interpretation and publicity.
Similarly, Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti said that the Academy has established a trend of discussion in Nepali philosophy by establishing a separate Department of Philosophy while Member-Secretary, Jivendra Dev Giri, said that philosophy would help to know life and the world.
Chairperson of the Research Centre Dr Bhakta Rai said that it was necessary to bring other philosophies that are out of mainstream in discussion.
