Home Minister Inspects Voting Center Security and Election Management Center in Kathmandu

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal inspected the Tarkeshwor polling station under Tarkeshwor Municipality in Kathmandu Constituency No. 6 and the Election Management Information Center at the Police Headquarters.

The Home Minister was accompanied by Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, heads of security agencies, and Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwaraj Poudel, along with other security officials. Speaking with voters, the Home Minister urged them to vote with confidence, stating that all preparations for election security have been completed. He mentioned that all agencies are diligently deployed at their posts to ensure the election is conducted peacefully, impartially, and in an organized manner.

The Home Minister gathered information regarding the security arrangements at the polling center, the smooth movement of voters, and necessary management. At the Election Management Information Center, the Home Minister was briefed on manpower management and deployment up to the municipal level, integrated information regarding all personnel deployed for the election, the status of election police, polling stations, and ballot boxes, and the process for receiving details of candidates for vote counting. The on-site and quantitative status of polling stations and ballot boxes will be reviewed.

Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki provided information about the center. He informed that arrangements have been made to easily receive information from the center regarding whether ballot boxes have reached the polling stations and whether the voting process has commenced. Election activities across all constituencies nationwide can be monitored smoothly.

Forty-one real-time video cameras have been installed at the center. Home Minister Aryal inquired about the security personnel deployed in all seven provinces and the security personnel at the election 'desk'.
