Actress Usha Rajak Embraces Mother Role in New Film 'Lalima', Citing Fan Demand

Actress Usha Rajak stated that playing the role of a mother in the film 'Lalima' was not just her desire but also the wish of the audience. She mentioned that she chose this character due to feedback from fans on social media urging her to take on age-appropriate roles.

'In the film, I have the role of a mother, and she is a character who cannot speak (has a different ability),' she said. 'In my two-decade-long acting career, I have never played such a role before. Therefore, this is also a challenge for me.' Usha, often seen as a bold and beauty heroine, shared that the mother role provided a distinctly different experience in her film career.

At an event held in the capital, another actress from the film, Roshni Karki, also shared her different experience working in 'Lalima'. Roshni plays the titular role (Lalima) in this film, which is set for release on Falgun 29. She stated that since the film is named after the character, she felt an added sense of responsibility.

'When I received the offer for the lead role, I felt both challenged and scared. I had doubts about whether I could carry the entire film on my shoulders,' she said. In the film, she portrays the role of a sex worker.

The film, written and directed by Roshan Miraj, also features main roles by Jeevan Bhattarai, Sushma Niraula, Ghanshyam Joshi, Sabin Kattel, and Shishir Wangdel, besides Usha and Roshni.

This film, presented by 'Faith Astha', has Reena Lama as its executive producer. The film is being distributed by National Cine Group Nepal.
