Four Prisoners Who Escaped During Protest Arrested in Bhaktapur for Drug Trafficking

Four individuals who escaped from prison during a recent protest have been apprehended by the Armed Police Force (APF) in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur. The four were arrested while engaged in drug trafficking, APF Spokesperson (DIG) Bishnu Prasad Bhatta informed.

Those arrested include Sunil Thapa, 33, from Dharan; Ashish Pandey, 33, from Lokanthali; Rashi Gautam, 21, from Lalitpur; and Unik Pokhrel, 21, from Nakshal, Kathmandu.

Sunil Thapa, arrested from Lokanthali in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-1, Bhaktapur, was serving a sentence for a drug trafficking case. He escaped from prison on Bhadra 24. The other accused were also in custody in connection with drug-related cases.

They were arrested on Tuesday while allegedly trafficking drugs in a tin shack in Lokanthali. The Armed Police Force recovered 15 grams of brown sugar and 50 tablets of narcotics from their possession.
