Box Office Reports Released for Nepali Films 'Kumari,' 'Ramita Ko Pirti,' and 'Bigul'

Kathmandu. Box office reports for three films, 'Kumari,' 'Ramita Ko Pirti,' and 'Bigul,' have been made public. The Film Development Board released the box office figures up to midnight on Saturday.

Among the three, the film 'Kumari,' directed by Dinesh Raut, appears to have earned more compared to the others at the box office. 'Kumari,' which began screening nationwide on Magh 23, has so far collected a gross total of 6,446,126 rupees. During this period, 19,959 tickets were sold for this film, which is based on the love story of young men and women.

The film stars Abhishek Khadka, Aakriti Rajbhandari, Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, and Akanksha Karki in lead roles. The executive producer of the film is Kedar Bhusal, and the producer is Mahendra Adhikari.

Similarly, 'Ramita Ko Pirti,' another film that premiered alongside 'Kumari' on Magh 23, has collected a gross of 2,868,143 rupees. 8,737 viewers watched this film in theaters. Written and directed by Sudipta Adhikari, the film features Aana Sharma and Binay Shrestha in the main roles. 

This film, which is said to subtly present the love emotions of a young woman, also features acting by Samir Shrestha, Giana, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, and others. The executive producers for this film, financed by Sagar Lamsal, are Aana Sharma and Santosh Lamsal.

The film 'Bigul,' which started screening on Falgun 1, did not perform as expected. While the film collected a gross of 928,860 rupees, 2,722 tickets were sold. A few days after the film's release, producer and Nepali Congress leader Dinesh Koirala postponed the screening, citing election reasons.

This film, which is said to encompass the current political situation and public sentiment of the country, was directed by Ramesh Koirala. Established actors such as Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Neer Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, and newcomer actress Mira Pandit have the main roles in it.
