Supreme Court Schedules Hearing for Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai's Habeas Corpus Petition

Kathmandu. A hearing date has been set for the habeas corpus writ petition filed by medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai. The hearing for Prasai's habeas corpus writ will take place in the single bench of Supreme Court Justice Kumar Regmi.

Advocate Suresh Bohara filed the habeas corpus writ in the Supreme Court on behalf of Prasai after he was arrested by security personnel from his residence in Bhaktapur.

Last Sunday, the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur, permitted the police to keep Prasai in custody for five days for investigation. Prasai, who was previously released on bail on Magh 25 after serving time for an electronic crime case, was arrested again on Falgun 4.

At that time, the police accused him of being involved in activities aimed at disrupting the elections. He was released on Falgun 13 by an order from Supreme Court Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel. Prasai has been arrested again four days after being released by the Supreme Court's order.

Recently, the administration has been arresting him on suspicion of playing a role in disrupting the elections and then releasing him by court order.
