Two Youths Killed in Bus and Motorcycle Collision in Siraha, Nepal

Siraha. Two youths have died in Siraha after a bus and a motorcycle collided with each other. Police reported that one teenager was seriously injured in the accident.

The District Police Office, Siraha stated that Santosh Mahato, 37, and Aman Rai, 20, both residents of Dhangadhimai Municipality-8, Kasaha in Siraha, died when a passenger bus and a motorcycle collided near Jamantoki in Golbazar Municipality-3 along the East-West Highway in Siraha late Sunday night. Local resident Dhiraj Mandal, 17, was seriously injured in the accident.

Inspector Sudhan KC, Chief of the Area Police Office, Golbazar, informed that the injured were declared dead during treatment at a local health facility after the motorcycle with registration number Sa 5 Pa 4759, coming from Golbazar towards the east, collided head-on with the bus with registration number Lu 2 Kha 1085, traveling from Dharan towards Bhairahawa. All three were riding the same motorcycle.

The injured Mandal is currently receiving treatment in Biratnagar. The bodies have been kept at the Ramkumar Uma Prasad Provincial Hospital in Lahan for post-mortem examination. The bus and its driver are under the control of the Area Police Office, Golbazar. The District Police Office, Siraha stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
