Home Minister Urges Responsibility for Fair Elections and Political Good Governance

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has stated that everyone must contribute responsibly to ensure clean elections and establish political good governance.

Minister Aryal made these remarks on Sunday while conducting an on-site inspection in Banke district regarding the preparations and security arrangements for the upcoming House of Representatives election (on Falgun 21) to be held in an independent, impartial, fearless, and reliable manner.

Home Minister Aryal noted that the preparations in Banke district are satisfactory so far and also directed the effective implementation of the security plan according to the district's environment.

Furthermore, he instructed that the election code of conduct must be enforced and those violating the law must be brought under legal purview.

A team led by Home Minister Aryal, including Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, and the Inspectors General of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal, conducted the on-site inspection concerning the preparations and security arrangements in Banke district.

During the inspection, the Chief Election Officer and Election Officers of Banke district, the Lumbini Province Chiefs of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal, officials from the District Security Committee, monitoring officers, and others were present.

In the program, Banke's Chief District Officer Dil Kumar Tamang presented on the election-related activities carried out in the district so far, the integrated election security plan, the security personnel deployment strategy, the ballot box transportation plan, and other related subjects.

Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha directed all security agencies to operate in a coordinated manner with a team spirit to make the election successful.

Following the program, Home Minister Aryal, in a brief meeting with some journalists in Banke, addressed their queries, stating that the election atmosphere is growing enthusiastically at the national level, and the preparations made in Banke so far confirm this.
