Progressive Democratic Party Demands Immediate Safety and Repatriation of Nepalis Amidst Middle East Conflict Escalation

Kathmandu. The Progressive Democratic Party (PrLoPa) has demanded the immediate safety and peaceful return to Nepal for Nepalis residing in the Middle East, citing the potential direct impact of the latest war situation developing there on their lives.

The party has also drawn the government's attention to immediately publicize the current status of Nepalis in the Middle East.

In a press release issued by the party's chairman, Santosh Pariyar, on Sunday, it was mentioned that the Middle East has been engulfed in a severe war following the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran on Saturday. The party concluded that preparing for war while peaceful alternatives like dialogue and negotiation exist is not in favor of world peace, and any war is ultimately against humanity.

Currently, hundreds of thousands of Nepalis are in various Middle Eastern countries for employment, education, and business. The press release recalled that protecting the security of these Nepalis in such a sensitive state of war is the primary responsibility of the Government of Nepal.

PrLoPa demanded that the government ensure no harm comes to the security of any Nepali citizen. Furthermore, the government was urged to immediately initiate necessary diplomatic efforts to create an environment for the citizens there to return to Nepal peacefully.
