Nepal Telecom Launches 'Group SMS' Service for Bulk Messaging

Kathmandu. Nepal Telecom has launched the 'Group SMS' service, enabling its mobile customers to send messages (SMS) to a large number of people simultaneously.

Under this service, customers can send between two thousand to ten thousand collective messages at once, depending on their needs. The company stated that this service will be very effective and useful for various organizations or individuals who need to send the same message to many people.

According to the press release issued by Telecom Spokesperson Rabindra Manandhar, three different packages have been made available keeping in mind the convenience of the customers for this service. Accordingly, customers can send 2,000 SMS for NPR 1,243 including tax. Similarly, the company has arranged for sending 5,000 SMS for NPR 3,108 and 10,000 SMS for NPR 6,215.

Nepal Telecom has also set some mandatory conditions for using this service. Service recipients must use a SIM card registered in their own (the user's) name to send group SMS. Furthermore, the company has clarified that the sender or organization bears full responsibility for all aspects, including the words, sentiment, and impact of the message being transmitted.

The method for using this service is also very easy. Customers can avail of this service by logging into Telecom's official web portal groupsms.ntc.net.np via their mobile, desktop, or laptop. After logging into the portal, the required package can be purchased. After purchasing the package, Telecom stated that customers can send messages to thousands of people at once by uploading the mobile numbers they wish to send messages to via an Excel sheet.
