High-Level Security Delegation, Including Home Minister, Inspects Far-West Region Ahead of Upcoming House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. A high-level security delegation, including Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, has embarked on an inspection tour of various districts in the Sudurpaschim Province, targeting the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. The team accompanying him includes Home Ministry Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, and Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal.

With the election in view, the high-level security delegation is scheduled to visit Nepalgunj in Banke, followed by Bajhang, Bajura, and Dhangadhi today to conduct on-site monitoring of election security and district polling centers.

According to Home Minister's Press Secretary Parshuram Pokharel, the high-level delegation's program includes on-site monitoring of election security and the overall electoral environment, followed by issuing directives to the concerned security agencies and the district-level polling centers.

Previously, on Friday, a high-level team including Home Minister Aryal and Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ramprasad Bhandari held discussions and interactions regarding election preparations and peace and security in Dolakha, Okhaldhunga, Morang, Rautahat, and Parsa with the District Security Committee, major political parties, Chief Polling Officers, and other stakeholders.

The government has strengthened and made election security and the country's overall peace and security robust and effective to ensure a fair, impartial, and fear-free election environment. It has been stated that all preparations, including security arrangements, have been made by the government as the election approaches.

The Ministry has stated that under the Election Security Strategy, work is being carried out according to the Integrated House of Representatives Election Plan 2082 to secure ballot papers before, during, and after the election.
