Rastriya Swatantra Party Leaders Defect to Nepali Congress in Karnali Province

Surkhet. Chandra Bik, the General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) for Karnali Province, and Jagat Basnet, the acting District Chairman of RSP Surkhet, have resigned from their party and joined the Nepali Congress.

Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma welcomed them, along with dozens of others who left the RSP, with garlands at a ceremony held in Surkhet on Sunday morning.

The departure of the Provincial General Secretary and the acting Chairman of the provincial capital's chapter deals a blow to the RSP on the eve of the elections.
