Deepika Padukone Reportedly Passes on Role in 'The White Lotus' Season Four Over Audition Requirement

Mumbai. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has reportedly missed a major opportunity to work in the popular and prestigious Hollywood series, 'The White Lotus,' for its fourth season. According to social media and international media reports, discussions with the production team stalled after Padukone refused to audition for the series.

Sources indicate that the producers of 'The White Lotus' intended to offer Padukone a role in this anthology drama series. However, as per Hollywood's casting process, every actor is required to audition.

According to a report by Variety India, show creator Mike White wanted to audition every actor selected for the series, but Deepika was not prepared for this process. The international opportunity slipped through her fingers because she declined to audition.

This is not the first time Padukone was approached for this show. Producers had contacted her for the third season as well, but at that time, she was unable to accept the role as she was pregnant.

As preparations for the fourth season are underway, the makers remembered her again, but talks concluded due to the audition condition. Since 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' released in 2017, Padukone has not taken on a major Hollywood project, making this series significant for her.

'The White Lotus' is an extremely popular and critically acclaimed American black-comedy drama series. This Emmy Award-winning show is known for its different story, new location, and new cast every season.

Despite missing this Hollywood opportunity, Deepika is currently busy with major Bollywood projects. She will soon be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in the film 'King,' and she is also part of a major project with Allu Arjun, which audiences are eagerly awaiting.
