Only 88 Candidates in Dhanusha Have Opened Bank Accounts for House of Representatives Election, Says Provincial Office

Janakpurdham. The Madhes Province Election Office in Janakpur has stated that only 88 candidates have opened bank accounts for the House of Representatives election in Dhanusha. A total of 154 candidates have filed nominations across four constituencies in Dhanusha district.

According to the Office Chief, Rome Bahadur Mahat, as per the Election Commission's call and letter, every candidate must open a bank account to maintain records of income and expenditure for the House of Representatives election. Furthermore, expenditures must adhere to the limits set by the Commission. District Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer, Krishna Gaire, stated that 150,000 election promotional materials placed in various locations across the district, which violated the election code of conduct, have been seized.

He also urged everyone to fully comply with and enforce the code of conduct to make the election effective. He warned that action would be taken against those who violate the code of conduct according to the law.

Similarly, Dhanusha's Chief District Officer (CDO), Prem Prasad Luitel, urged everyone to fully adhere to the election code of conduct to ensure the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 is impartial and free from rigging. CDO Luitel expressed the view that the election would be impartial as the entire environment for the election has been established.

He further informed that complete security arrangements have been made and Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the Nepali Army have been deployed to ensure the election is peaceful and orderly, adding that full security has been arranged for the polling centers. He mentioned that if needed, additional security forces would reach every polling center within five to seven minutes. He warned that character assassination through social media against any political party or candidate must stop, and action would be taken if evidence of such acts is found.

Dhanusha district has four constituencies for the House of Representatives member post. Under this, the district has 645 polling centers and 322 polling stations. One hundred ninety-four polling stations have been designated as highly sensitive. It was reported that 3,875 employees have been mobilized for the election. Four thousand five hundred temporary police personnel have also been selected.
