Election Officials Trained in Nawalparasi for Upcoming House of Representatives Vote

Nawalparasi. Training has been provided to the polling officers and assistant polling officers who will be deployed at the polling stations for the House of Representatives election scheduled for the upcoming Falgun 21 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, a total of 1,869 personnel, including polling officers, assistant polling officers, and support staff, are being prepared for deployment in the district. Lal Prasad Bhusal, Chief of the District Election Office, stated that the staff selected from Constituency No. 1 were trained on Thursday, while staff from Constituency No. 2 will be trained on Friday.

“As per the election schedule, 157 polling officers and the same number of assistant polling officers have been trained for Constituency No. 1,” he said, adding, “154 polling officers and the same number of assistant polling officers will be trained for Constituency No. 2.”

Chief Bhusal informed that a total of 1,869 personnel, including a 10 percent reserve staff for both constituencies, will be mobilized.

“The training covered both theoretical and practical aspects on topics such as operating the polling station, method of using ballot papers, measures to reduce invalid votes, counting procedures, and emergency management,” he stated.

A total of 312 polling stations, including one temporary polling station, have been established in the district. The office announced that all necessary materials for the election, such as ballot papers and ballot boxes, have arrived in the district.

According to Chief District Officer Bhavishwar Pandey, eight staff members will be assigned to polling stations with more than 500 voters, and seven staff members will be assigned to centers with fewer than 500 voters.

“Arrangements have been made for all election staff to reach their respective polling stations with the necessary materials by Falgun 18,” he said.
