Kalikot Bans Drone Flights for Three Days Ahead of Elections

Kalikot. The use of 'Remotely Piloted Aircraft' (RPA) and 'Drone Cameras' has been banned in Kalikot for three days. The District Security Committee made the decision to ban the flight of RPAs and drones starting three days before the election scheduled for Falgun 21, until the election is completed.

Chief District Officer Gokarna Raj Suyal stated that due to the increasing use of equipment like RPA/drones by individuals and institutions for various purposes with the development of information technology, and the issuance and implementation of the Procedure for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle RPA/Drone Flight, 2075, to update flight, permission, and other regulatory arrangements without affecting the security situation, flights have been banned during the election period.

He further stated that keeping in mind the security sensitivity of the election, RPA/drone flights are banned for drone users who have obtained permission from three days before the election date until the election is completed. He mentioned that the decision prohibits drone flights by individuals/organizations other than security agencies during the election period, and any violation will result in action according to prevailing laws.
