Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki

Kathmandu. The Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The meeting took place on Friday at the Prime Minister's office in Singha Durbar. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that various dimensions of bilateral relations between Nepal and China and matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. The Ministry further stated that discussions were held on further strengthening the historic relationship between the two countries and advancing existing areas of cooperation more effectively. 

On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki and Ambassador Maoming exchanged views on development projects being implemented in Nepal, economic cooperation, and matters of common interest between the two countries, according to the Ministry. 

During the meeting, Chinese Ambassador Zhang extended best wishes for Prime Minister Karki's successful tenure and also expressed China's commitment to continued support for Nepal's development and stability. Both sides also expressed a resolve to take the friendly relations between Nepal and China to new heights in the coming days.

The newly appointed Ambassador Zhang, who arrived in Nepal on Falgun 1, has already assumed his duties. He is scheduled to pay courtesy calls after presenting his credentials to President Ramchandra Paudel. On Thursday, he held a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma.
