Security Preparations Finalized for Upcoming Federal Parliament Elections in Koshi Province

Biratnagar. All security preparations have been completed in Koshi Province for the upcoming Federal Parliament member elections.

Binod Ghimire, Chief of the Koshi Province Police Office, Biratnagar, stated that the security committee has made complete arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during the election. He informed that based on the security strategy, special monitoring and police deployment will be carried out after assessing sensitive, highly sensitive locations, and security challenges. 

According to the Office Chief Ghimire, 12,000 Nepal Police personnel, 23,000 election police, and other manpower will be mobilized in Koshi Province to ensure the election is conducted in a fear-free environment.

The Armed Police Force Koshi Province Office, Sunsari, has stated that 2,561 Armed Police personnel and 5,649 election police from the APF side have already been mobilized for the election.

There are 28 Federal Parliament member constituencies in the province. There are 3,574,286 voters here, including 1,749,073 women, 1,828,213 men, and 24 other voters. According to the Election Office, Koshi has 4,270 polling centers and 1,907 polling stations.
