Traffic Congestion Rises in Kathmandu as Election Nears; Election Police Deployed for Management

Kathmandu. As the elections draw nearer, traffic congestion in the Kathmandu Valley is increasing. After regular traffic police personnel were deployed outside the valley for election security, some difficulties were observed in traffic management at various intersections in the capital. To control the rising jams, election police are now also deployed for road traffic management.

They are actively playing a role in maintaining vehicle discipline, clearing jams, and ensuring smooth movement for commuters.

According to Navaraj Adhikari, the Chief of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police, the manpower in the valley appeared reduced because some traffic police were sent outside Kathmandu as the election approached.
