22 Candidates in Baglung Open Bank Accounts for Election Expenses

Baglung. Twenty-two candidates in Baglung have opened bank accounts for the purpose of election expenditures.

The Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee stated that out of the 23 candidates contesting in Baglung Constituency No. 1 and Constituency No. 2 for the House of Representatives election 2082, 22 have opened bank accounts so far.

Kishorkumar Shrestha, the Fund Controller at the Office of the Fund and Audit Control, informed that candidates must conduct their expenses and income through this account. According to him, one candidate in Constituency No. 1 has not yet opened an account.

The Election Commission has set a standard allowing candidates in Baglung to spend up to NPR 2.9 million in the election. He mentioned that monitoring candidate expenditures will be done to prevent financial manipulation and ensure spending frugality in the election.

Shrestha said, "This time, the Election Commission has mandated the opening of accounts exclusively for election purposes to prevent excessive spending. Many here have opened accounts, and one person is in the process of opening one."
