Nepali Congress President Thapa Blames Post-2074 Election Dynamics for Current Political Stagnation

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa stated that the country has reached its current state because politics failed to gain momentum following the elections held in 2074 BS after the promulgation of the constitution through the Constituent Assembly.

Addressing a party election rally in Surkhet, Karnali, on Thursday, President Thapa attributed the current situation to politics getting entangled in the dirty culture of alliances after the 2074 elections.

'After the 2074 elections, the country should have picked up the pace of development. Work ensuring good governance should have been done, but it wasn't. Politics became busy with the task of forming and collapsing governments,' said President Thapa, adding, 'There has been a mistake somewhere. Politics has become dirty somewhere. Politics has become dirty due to the alliance culture.'

President Thapa asserted that the Congress will not let the country fall into any further disaster. He urged the people of Karnali to vote for the Congress to create a situation where no unarmed person loses their life due to government firing in Nepal, and where those wearing masks cannot burn government property, including Singha Durbar.
