Women to Lead Three Polling Stations in Jhapa Constituency 3 for Upcoming Federal Elections

Jhapa. Women have been appointed to lead three polling stations in Jhapa Constituency No. 3 for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

Dilli Prasad Prasai, Assistant Election Officer at the main election office, informed that leadership roles for three polling stations located at the Mechi Stadium in Bhadrapur Municipality-8 have been entrusted to women.

He stated that there are three polling stations at the stadium and added, "From the presiding officers to the staff and police, all have been assigned as women." According to him, Pushpalata Upreti, Chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Office, Bhadrapur, is the presiding officer at Booth 'A' of the polling station, with Pratikshya Ghimire serving as the assistant presiding officer.

At Booth 'B', Srijana Pant from the Special Survey Office, Damak, is the presiding officer, and Junu Pokharel is the assistant presiding officer. He also informed that Goma Dahal from Bhadrapur Municipality is the presiding officer at Booth 'C', with Pratima Rai as the assistant.

Tulsi Nepal, Chief of the District Election Office, stated that the office is actively providing election-related orientation training to the presiding officers across all five constituencies in Jhapa. Jhapa has 713,537 voters, 815 polling stations, and 285 polling sites. He mentioned that 815 presiding officers along with 4,936 staff members have been deployed. The office announced that security arrangements have been tightened at all 285 polling stations in the district to ensure the election is impartial, fear-free, and well-organized, and the deployment of staff to their respective areas has begun.
